1. Durability:

Carbonized wood: After hot steam carbonization, changes some components of the wood, reduces the nutrients of wood decaying bacteria, inhibits the growth of bacteria in the wood from this link of the food chain, and the complex chemical reaction of wood in the treatment process also produces some harmful components to the decaying bacteria, which can kill the decaying bacteria. Therefore, the corrosion resistance and weather resistance of carbonized wood are significantly improved, and it has the effect of anti-rot and anti-fungus.

2. Stability:

Wood is carbonized in high temperature environment, because the carbonization process reduces the concentration of hydroxyl in wood components, reduces the hygroscopic property and internal stress of wood, so that the exchange ability of carbonized wood and external water is significantly reduced, thus greatly reducing the deformation, contraction and wet expansion caused by water changes in the use of wood.

After ultra-high temperature pyrolysis, a large amount of hemicellulose and lignin are degraded, which reduces the mechanical properties of poplar wood. However, due to the low equilibrium water content of poplar carbonized wood and the low water content when used, the appropriate carbonized treatment temperature can improve the bending strength and bending elastic modulus of poplar carbonized wood when used, but the impact toughness of poplar carbonized wood decreases, and the higher the temperature of treatment, the lower the impact toughness. The resin and some inclusions of poplar carbonized wood are all precipitated in the carbonization process, so the surface of poplar carbonized wood has no oily components such as resin and is easy to paint. At the same time, because the poplar carbonized wood has the advantages of anti-corrosion, good stability, moisture and so on, so the maintenance cost of poplar carbonized wood in daily use is low and the service life is long.
